Default recommendations for baby car seat on 3Gen IS

Hello club members, just got myself a new IS350 and are looking for a compact, yet safe, baby car seat. I'm sure some have gone through this same situation and are looking for help. Pics would be amazing.

I recently bought the recaro previa baby seat, with isofix base. (0-18kg)
Tested it in the car before i bought it. Fits very well.

Haven't started using it yet, so can't give you any pics.

Bought this because it felt solid and well built. And with two isofix bases, it is easy for my wife and to swap the seat between our cars.

My daughter is 6 now so we are past the baby seat phase but in my experience Britax and Recaro make by far the best baby and child seats. Not the most compact, but very sturdy and safe.

Congrats on your new IS350!

My infant fits perfectly with this setup:

-
Chicco Keyfit 30 Infant Seat and Base Chicco Keyfit 30 Infant Seat and Base

-
Diono Super Mat Seat Protector Diono Super Mat Seat Protector

-
Chicco Keyfit Caddy Stroller Frame Chicco Keyfit Caddy Stroller Frame
(light-weight and fits perfect in trunk with enough room for groceries, backpack, etc.).

Hope that helps!

I just bought the recaro performance ride seat, looks good but because it sits so tall, the only place i can keep it in the car seat is on the left side. Both middle and right side creates huge blind spots, the right completely blocks the corner, the middle blocks the rear view, so the left has a little bit of blocked view but seems to be the safest location.

It would help a bit if you told what weight class seat you're looking for.
It is natural that the baby seat has to get bigger when the baby grows

The advantage with recaro is that you can keep the isofix base, and just swap out the seat, as the child grows.

I have the same EXACT setup, including the stroller. It works well, though the seat is long/deep, so I have to push the passenger seat well forward of where I would prefer when the car seat is installed.

I've actually found the opposite to be true, at least in as far as how it impacts the front seats. The rear facing infant seats take up a lot of room, so the passenger seat has to be moved forward to accommodate it. It's even a bit of a squeeze in my RX. My daughter, however, is 3 and uses this seat:

This seat is fantastic, and I can keep my driver's seat in the position I like and still have room for my daughter. When my infant son gets bigger and can use one of these having the family in the IS will be much easier.

Mine are past baby age...but the Bubble Bum Inflatable Booster seats(amazon) are good for age 3+ kids.
They're lightweight & have soft sides, so they won't dent the Nuluxe/leather.
Also, they're thin enough to fit in the buckets of the IS350 seat.

Only issue is that it doesn't have armrests.

Thank you guys for the response, I should have included that it's for a newly born baby and would prefer a convertible car seat. I wife owns a Honda Pilot and that's where he will ride most of the time.

Plus one on this. Buy the best rated seat online.

Honestly, they are small for such a short amount of time - you'll have to get a bigger seat eventually anyway.

I have a 4 and 6 year old in my back seat and dad is 6'2". Not always the most comfy but it works..

I have a Graco in my 2014 IS250. Not sure if you meant baby seat or toddler seat. I have a toddler seat.

I agree with others in Britax being a great car seat. My wife has a Britax in her car. We mainly use her car when we are with our kids but I drop my daughter off every day. I might have invested a little more if I knew I was going to use it almost every day but I don't see anything wrong with the Graco. The build isn't as strong as the Britax but still not weak by any means (kind of like buying a Lexus or Toyota).

I mainly bought the Graco because of the fit. It fits pretty well in the back seat. Flush with seats so it doesn't create gaps, small base, somewhat compact. Makes some indention but I think all car seats will. Wish the cup holder was switchable but it's molded into the seat. I keep mine on the rear right (behind passengers seat). I put the passengers seat up almost all the way but it's really because I don't want her to get her dirty shoe prints on the seat. I need to invest in the seat kick cover.

I have the Uppababy Mesa in my IS350. Fits with enough leg room for the passenger in the front seat.
