That's a bummer. I doubt it's armor all in my case since I don't own any of their products.

What did you (or the detail shop) end up doing to get rid of it or is the stains still here?

Man, thanks for the heads up. And I hope you can get it out. Update us when you get back.

I've owned several white cars and never had any problems, and always found them reasonably easy to maintain. That said, they can get stains like discussed here, but I've never had one that couldn't be easily removed.

white cars hide swirl marks very well, they tend to look a lot newer than they really are. People didnt believe my 2IS was an 06. Most of the time when I washed it, I never bothered to dry it besides the glass. You'll never see water spots

So I finally got a chance try and get this ugly yellowish-brownish stain off. Here's what I did:

1. Meguiar's UQD: didn't help
2. rubbing alcohol + MF cloth: didn't help
3. Optimum Power Clean: didn't help
4. Griot's Garage Bug and Smudge remover: didn't help
5. Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay kit: didn't help
6. Mother's California Gold Clay Bar System: didn't help

End result: nothing changed, not even a little! The ugly yellowish-brownish stain is still there.

Any suggestions on what I should try next, maybe compound? Or should I just bring it into a detailer and have them try and get it out?

Did the tar remover have any mineral spirits (paint thinner) in it? If not, get some from Home Despot for a few bucks, always handy for oily cleanups.

You should have tried the compound first.

In hindsight, probably yes. But I wanted to start off with the least abrasive/aggressive to the most.
