5000 mile service and F Sport Exhaust Install today....Dealer charges for gas?
Had my 5000 mile service and F Sport Performance exhaust installed today as well as a covered repair on rim rash and was happy to get a loaner. As I was filling out the paperwork for the loaner they said I would need to bring the car back full or they would charge me $4 a gallon. This really surprised me since I've never experienced that with loaners from Honda, Toyota, and Acura. Is this Lexus wide?

Yeah the needle was far above the Full mark so I should be good...I'm not sure if a few people went nuts and brought them back empty so they changed their policy.

I agree....I have no issues in paying for gas that I used while in a loaner. I would have been using the gas in my own vehicle so why would I expect Lexus to subsidize my driving lifestyle

Drove about 30 miles in the ES 350 and the needle didnt even move. The throttle response of Eco and Sport on the ES is like day and night...2 totally different cars lol.
Performance Exhaust installed and you can definitely hear it all the time. Still debating if it's too loud while cruising on the interstate since my back seats were down on the drive home with the original exhaust in the trunk. Solid note at 2000-2500 rpm.

Depends on the dealer. My dealer started requiring that they be returned with the same level of fuel back when fuel prices really got crazy. I've noticed now they'll give me a loaner with 3/4 tank and they'll mark 1/4 on the loaner form...meaning they're essentially giving me a free tank of gas.
I have no problem replacing the fuel I use.

To bridge another thread....also no go on the free bottle(s) of Ultra White touch up paint. I asked the parts guy about it being offered for new purchases and he referred me to the service guy who in turn referred me back to the parts guy. $28 for both bottles (base and top coat). I did end up with a complementary apple and diet coke.

Oh, bring in your car for your free scheduled maintenance but make sure you pay for the gas in your loaner. Dumb. Any time I have ever had a loaner, I can use however much gas that is in the car that I need. If it's low already and I need more, that's the only time I've added any.
