Tint advice :D
I picked up my 2015 350 f-sport in Atomic Silver / Rioja on friday and to say i'm in love would be putting it mildly The atomic silver is sooo gorgeous.. its silver, its gold, its grey, its everything! And the red interior is just so sharp
Now i just have to figure out what to tint her. I had 30% on my obsidian/parchment 250 all around except for the windshield but i don't know if i want to go as dark with the atomic. I was trying to search the forum to see what other people have done, but wasn't having too much luck. So tell me, what did you do/what do you suggest? Thanks!!

I can see going dark if you live in a hot climate, but personally I think tinted windows on a Lexus look cheap, and it reminds me of drug dealers or people who mod their Hyundai

I'm going to go with 30% all around on mine as soon as it warms up a bit around here. It's a secondary offense in PA, but technically fineable. I've always had my cars tinted though and have never had a problem. I don't like when it's not the same percentage all around.

IMO, if your going to go with illegal tint (for the states that require inspections). If you have an inspection shop that will pass you regardless of the level of tint you have and your local law enforcement is less concerned with your tint levels, then go as dark as you prefer. I ran with 15%, on my Ultra white but that was the look and privacy level I was interested in. I also have an inspection shop that will pass me with a $10 correction fee and the guy that tints my cars also does the window tinting on most of the local law enforcement personal vehicles so I don't have much to worry about.
Some people get tint to protect from sun and heat damage and not so much for the look and privacy. Oddly enough the darker the tint doesn't always mean greater or "that much greater" protection.
Sun tek is a popular choice in my area and you can look at the spec numbers and see that 45% tint will net nearly just as much solar energy protection as the 18% without limiting visibility through the glass, specially driving at night.

The Carbon being the most vastly used, as the XP will add a good bit of cost.
FWIW: 45% tint film on a car made after early 2000's (can't remember the exact date off hand) will meter 36% tint after installed on automotive glass as auto makers began slightly dying the glass to help with the longevity of interior component life and other UV light issues. So for those that are limited by state laws in what tint levels they choose (commonly 35% legal limit on front windows). Keep in mind that just because the tint level reads on the box 35% doesn't mean it will meter 35% on the window in an inspection. Most local tinting shops will advise you on this if you live in a state that regulates window tint levels.

yes, still waiting on those pics! lol. I actually kinda regretted not going with the 55 at first, but now that I'm used to the 45, i think it looks great. It's actually pretty light. I can still see through it when it's parked in the shade. Couldn't have said that when i had 30% on my old car
