Default GS350 F Sport or IS350 F Sport

I have a 2002 GS430 and looking at buying a new GS350 F Sport or a new IS350 F Sport. Has anyone driven both car. What are differences in driving and handling of both and difference in comfort of the front seats.

Good question. I was in the same position a few months ago. Here's my thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...y-and-why.html

lots of good info there from fellow members. I chose the IS for 1 specific reason: car length and comfort. Don't get me wrong, the GS seats are very comfortable, but the IS seats are better IMO. Either way, try both vehicles and take a test drive. That will help you determine which one you really want!

Lol. Well, there's more to the story, but I don't want to get into too much detail

I am in the market for a 3IS simply because I had a 2IS and I love the 3IS styling, if I could get the GS I would do it in a heartbeat. However get what you want and not what people tell you to get, there are advantages and disadvantages to both sides.

Despite the size difference (183" vs 190"), the 3IS may be roomier based on the fact the rear seats are 60/40. GS is def the big boy's car, more luxury and available amenities, better quality materials (though MY15 solved some of that on the 3IS), 3IS is more driver oriented with a tighter cabin. Best thing to do is drive both, you'll figure out which you prefer. In the end both are winners.

+1 Like I stated earlier, take some time with both cars. At the end of the day, you'll be glad about your decision!

I'm in the minority here, but don't like the f sport gauges. I prefer the traditional ones

I like the car length the most, I have a smaller garage so the shorter length definitely allows for greater access to items when the car is parked outside. Also, I drive mostly in Manhattan so I needed something a bit more compact to fit into parking spaces. I really did love the GS as it has a lot of features you can't get on the IS, namely the heads up display. However, I definitely appreciate IS as I feel it's a bit more nimble handling.

+1.

To add, the IS F-Sport seats' bottom and back bolstering can be a little confining for larger bodies on long trips.

In LA it's amazing how much difference the length makes as to whether I can fit into the one available spot or not and the short turning radius has come in handy more often than a lot of the tech I had on my other car.

I have been torn between the IS350 I have and possibly a GS350. They lease for the same price so it comes down to what I like. For me, the exterior styling and the slightly better handling won out. I find the exterior styling of the GS to be very bland. I only wish they could transplant the better interior materials from the GS into my IS.

True the IS seats hold well but are fixed. The beauty of the GS F-Sport/Luxury seats is the 16-way/18-way seats with adjustable hugging side bolsters, thigh extension and rear articulation on the vertical
