so has anyone who has installed the black pearl emblem on the front of their IS experienced the rock chip problem that i am? don't have pics handy but up close theres tons of rock chips! don't feel like spending 135 for a new one b/c its just gonna happen again but not liking how it looks. anyone else have this problem? any suggestions?

Thanks for the heads up. Now I know not to spend $$$ on it.

If I were you I would try plastidipping it and maybe using some type of clearcoat to get it that glossy look. If you don't like the the look you can just peel it off. Only cost like $5 a can

Not sure what the OP meant by "front black pearl emblem". If he was referring to the standard clear front emblem that comes with the car, clear bra does protect it from stone chips effectively.

Black pearl emblem doesn't have a clear front. With that being said, I'm confused as to how you got rock chips on it. It's just a piece of plastic. We need pictures lol.

Do you drive really close to the cars in front of you? Rocks that has kicked up from your tires shouldn't be able to reach the emblem, so maybe you drive really close to cars in front of you and their rear wheels kick rocks at you?
