Default Lexus Clear Bra

Is it worth it to get the Lexus clear bra (paint protector) for $400 or better to go to an aftermarket provider?

Lexus dealer did a great job on my car.The benefit of having them do it, is they have no excuse if it is not perfect and you can go back at them at any time in the future if problems come up

I've never purchased it as I typically don't drive on highways for my commute so the exposure to fast flying rocks or debris is reduced in the city. In short, my daily driven cars have been in excellent shape. However, it also depends on the color. For instance, on an Obsidian IS, the front bumper will eventually look like the moon's surface (two friends of mine have it) which is why I got the paint protection film (from Lexus as part of the deal) with my Obsidian NX. Also, our NX will be our family hauler on long trips and therefore a lot more highway driven.

For $400, I'd get it for sure from Lexus on a darker color especially hwy driven and as Lindenlea said, you'll have far more leverage with Lexus (than a 3rd party) in the event of any issue with the film.

What kind of product did they offer you? Partial, full front?? Brand?

I got a quote for $1,295 to do the entire front. Brand is 3M

How good is the 3M product lexus offers. I was in yesterday to get a rock chip filled with touch-up and a guy there recommended me get the bumper done. I was going to ask if they would do Xpel instead if the 3M wasnt worth the investment. The installer they use for 3M I believe is also an Xpel certified installer.

I had the 3M on my BMW for 5 years and it was excellent. Not sure the brand Lexus used on my car as it was already on when I purchased.

Go with the xpel. It is self healing and has a great warranty.

Default I would pass on anything the dealer install

If the dealer charges you 400 that means you can get it cheaper after market and usually for the same price they charge you can get a better quality product. In regards to quality of the install, if you find a quality installer you will have no problems with the install and warranty work.
