Default Serious purchasing finance question-HELP

The car is "still on the ship"

I was told that it would be "in the port" on the 12th. I understand holdups, and am patient. However, I was told that I will lose the 0.9% financing of the car is not at the lot by January 5th.

This makes no sense to me, seeing as it is Lexus that I'm dealing with.

I have signed the LFS Credit Applicationand the financing option form. Read and have the privacy policy. And given my credit card for the $500 down payment to hold the car.

Please tell me the information I am getting is wrong.

I believe that your financing rate is a special incentive that expires 01/05. A buyer is eligable for any and all special incentives that apply at the time of delivery only.

How far is your port of entry from the dealership? Hopefully, a little more than three weeks is more than enough for your car to clear customs and be trucked the rest of the way.

Good Luck!

Do you know if the ship is in route or parked at shore with your car on it. If its in route I would have to believe it will be here in plenty of time to get your financing. I believe these ships run 24/7. Even if it doesn't get here on time there is nothing stopping Lexus from offering the same financing next month again.

When my wife and I purchased out Is350 last year they had a special financing on the RX models. We ended up getting that rate. We asked for it and at first they said they couldn't do it. After some back and forth, the dealership called the some Lexus Headquarters and we ended up with the special rate. You need to let them know that if you don't get that rate due to a delay on shipping that you will walk.

that's bull, tell the dealer you have a friend who was able to lock in their incentives even though their car got delivered a couple days after the promotion end date. i almost lost 1750 in incentives in january, but the dealer called corporate explained the situation and was able to get me a lock in on the incentives regardless of me signing the papers the week after the promotion. they will work with you, trust me.

also, just because you have applied for LFS credit, doesn't mean you'll for sure get the 0.9%, unless thats what they already determined you qualify for. if it is, great! if not, then you better get things straightened out while you have time.

i just bought an altima recently and the best rates locally were at my credit union for 1.99%. nissan had 0% interest or $2000 cash back but with 3-4% interest. obviously you get more on the cash back so i took advantage of that. even before my first payment due, i'll be refinancing the car with the credit union, so i get the lower rate, plus the cash back.

also, specifically to LFS, if you are graduating within 6 months or have gradated within the past two years, you can take advantage of their college grad incentive, and if you're a military personnel (not civilian) there's another incentive there as well. make sure you follow-up on it. best of luck

Jan-Feb are not good car sales months - most likely, the rates will be extended. If not, you will receive whatever rate/incentive is in place when you take delivery. That's the way it works unless you can work out something else like a previous poster stated.

They already told me credit score only needed to be above 670. And, my wife didn't even have to sign. He told me he believes the car will make it there in time.

I'm not sure if they can actually find out specifically where the car is at this point.
