If you put anything down, only put down your first months payment. Nothing over that, as you will not get that back if something happens to the car once you drive it off of the lot. Your fees for CA should be only around $830 that includes the license fee, acquisition fee, and the doc fee. The title fee might be included seperately. In the lease ppw, the fees are called cap additions. Your down payment (2k) is called cap reductions.

If you are planning to buy it outright at the end, the residual value (buy-out cost) will be lower if your residual % figure is lower (66% is better than 74% for this purpose)

Also, you can use TrueCar for leasing also, to help negotiate the purchase price. And, download some sort of leasing calculator app to your phone, that you can use to run all the numbers they give, to ensure they add up to the monthly. Often times dealers will try to "sneak" something into the lease to get your monthly higher and you wouldn't notice.

Glock - congrats on the new IS - enjoy!

You sure the sale price wasn't around $39k? With a sale price of $37k, your payment should be much lower. Or are you saying the $2k up front gets you to $37k?

Either way - great deal on a great car!

Congrats on your purchase! I got quoted the following for a '15 IS250 F-Sport AWD:

MSRP: $45,665
Sale price: $40,612 + tag, taxes, drive-off fees
MF: .00075

My MF was lower than yours, but your sales price is way lower than mine

Wow, your offer seems a lot better than mine.

15' IS250 White/Red w/ NAV and BSM
$43,313

48mos/15k miles - $425 a month with $5000 down.

Granted, this was a ball park figure they gave me based on "okay" credit since I wasn't comfortable running my credit just yet but my actual credit typically gives me lowest rates possible.

How should I go about negotiating lower? I'm new to this and I don't want to get steamrolled here by the dealer.

Congrats on the new ride! Like bgaerttner said, based on your numbers, your payment should be closer to $305 a month. To have payments of $347 (and keeping all your other numbers the same), your purchase price (OTD) would have been $38,300. Still not a bad deal by any means, but just want to make sure they didn't do anything wonky with the ppw, or try to "hide" someting they added.

Are you buying or leasing? I would look on the thread named "Price paid for an IS250/350" and go from there. Also, get more quotes from other dealers. If you want to do business with them, then bring the lowest quote and have them match it if they want your business. That's what I did!

Yeah, I got a little excited and didn't look at the details. Looks like the Gross cap is $39640 and the adjusted is $38,234. I put $1k down which includes fees and first payment ($942) and the $1k college rebate. I'm pretty happy though, looks like the package is fairly rare too!
