I had an android phone prior and everything worked great. Got calls, texts, and music streaming all working all the time.

Then I swapped over to an iPhone 6 and I can no longer see incoming text messages. I'll hear the alert through my car speakers but nothing comes up on the navi screen. I Googled and people said you have to unsync it, then resync it a few times to get it to work. But I haven't been successful.

I was told during my delivery 'tour' that the text message feature does not work with the iPhone.

I have an iPhone 5 and receive texts. Make sure that you have "show notifications" enabled in your phone settings.

Yes, I can confirm that the car shows SMS received from iPhone 5.

Go to Settings, then Bluetooth. Hit the little "i" icon next to Lexus IS in your list and then hit the toggle that says "show notifications"

Confirmed. Just need to enable Bluetooth notifications under settings. Works fine with iPhone 6 running iOS 8.2 Beta 1.

I haven't tried it yet but hitting the "i" does indeed show that "show notification" was off by default. I'm hopeful that this will fix it. Thanks!!! It was bugging me the hell out for the last few months receiving texts and being unable to see it while driving.

I have an IPhone 6 and can receive text messages just fine. I just can't view them while driving.

iPhone 6 does work. Text will be read out loud while driving too.

I tried this last night for the first time because I hadn't turned on the notifications before. And then I realized it was going to annoy the crap out of me, so I shut notifications back off.

Now my car says my phone cancelled the connection and even with a reboot of my phone I can't get them to connect (even though they are seeing each other). Giant pain

I meant to say this, Yeah if you are driving you cant read the texts but the car will read it out loud to you. Pretty cool!
