Navi crashed mid-drive. Neg battery wire removal didn't fix
Hey guys,
Just as the subject says, I was driving home from work tonight and my navigation screen made a loud screeching sound then just blacked out. I tried holding down the volume button for 10 seconds AND removing the negative wire on the battery terminal for a minute and neither fixed the issue.
I was talking on the phone via bluetooth when it crashed... not sure if that's what caused it.
Has anyone had this issue before? I've had the car for a week can't believe I'm already having to deal with something like this!

Did it ever come back on? I've had crashes and reboots with the previous firmware, but it always comes back on. Best to visit the dealer.

I guess MFRS are behind in terminology as well as tech, some systems were disk based as recent as 2012 and we still call them Hard Disk Drive

Only one Lexus dealer in Austin and it's not worth it for me to drive 1.5 hours to San Antonio. I will follow-up when the service department diagnoses the problem.

Different dealer. I purchased in San Antonio and trying to get service done in Austin. They were really nice about it. Said they're overbooked today and don't have any loaners (didn't ask for one, but definitely will need one). Said first thing Monday morning works. It's no big deal.. just kind of sucks that I can't listen to any music while driving all weekend.

Dealership is taking a look at the car now. The service tech said he's never seen this problem on the IS before, and that it's particularly weird because it's a '15. I will report back on their findings.
