So long story short I'm looking to potentially buy a used 2014 is 250 f sport white/red with nav with very low miles less than 5k, the conditions are good but not excellent the rims are scratched and some paint scratch on bottom front from rock/pibbles, now kbb says for something like this would be 33.5-34.5k, what do you guys think for a realistic settle price? The seller is selling for a new car. I mean I can get a new one for 40.5k so the private sell would have to be pretty good price for me to go forward. I'm paying cash if I buy, no finance. Any other things I should consider when buying from private dealer?

if they're shady looking peeps, i would avoid it. prices too good to be true usually mean that they're just trying to unload the car

however, if its 1st owner, low miles, available records, etc, go get one!

Do your homework. Request all service records, etc. Get it looked at independently if possible. Deals that sound too good to be true are in most cases. But there is always one hidden gem. The seller may be motivated to get that new ride and may be willing to unload. Especially if you are bringing cash to the table! Good luck.
