Question for you. When you remote start and you unlock the car after, does the remotestart shut off like factory RSE ? Or does it keep running?
I know DEI/Xpresskits way of doing is to do it same as factory Remote Start, I wonder if this system keeps the car running.

Yes when you open the door the car shuts off. There is no "secure takeover" procedure

I did the same process for my 13 fusion and it only required 5 wires all under the dash

thank you tbone587 for confirming. i'll wait til DEI/Xpresskits has firmware then since I have their hardware sitting and waiting. friend at DEI states they are working on firmware currently also but nothing in Alpha form yet.
For idatalink,
here is some links to product
http://idatalink.com/firmware/firmwa...hicle_id/11652
and the manual to look over

I probably dont recommend it to anybody to install it themselves if you are not comfortable with electronics in the vehicle. These vehicles have too many computers nowadays for you to be randomly connecting wires with only a guide not knowing what you are doing and then end up having a car that cannot start if you mess up

Thank you specONE for all that info. I am pretty familiar with alarm installs but that ADS-ALCA manual looks intense! :/ But nonetheless, it looks like we are getting movement on having remote start on 2014s with navi!

You posted the wrong install guide. You need the guide for the RS firmware

The RS firmware is designed to make the module act as a standalone remote start with factory key integration. The DL firmware is designed when you are using the module in conjunction with an external remote start unit such as a smart phone unit. You flash it to one or the other depending on how you will install it.
