have anyone turn off the speed limiter ?
hi..
every once in awhile I do street drag races and my only issue is the other cars pass me when I reach 241 km/h
because of the speed limiter.
has any one exceed this speed ?
How can I turn the speed limiter off?
my car is350 f sport.

241 kmh on a "street"? I won't go on and tell you how stupid this is, but can you tell us where exactly that is? I'm curious to see that stretch of street on google street view.

LOL.
Be flattered that we are pretending to take your question seriously.
You're "drag racing" a pig of a sedan* on the street and when it exceeds it's maximum top speed (after what... a MILE of accelerating?) you think some "speed limiter" has kicked in? You do realize your minimum stopping distance from that speed is about half a click???
Is school out? Are you racing 3.5 Altima's and Acura SUVs???
*Mine too.

You do realize there are speed limiters, right? These are set at anywhere between 118 and 199mph depending on the car. When you hit this trigger point, many will begin retarding timing, while others will begin cutting fuel and causing the car to backfire until the speed gets back under 100 in which fuel is then given to the motor again.
I've owned several performance cars, and I will tell you I've hit the speed limiter on each of them. On my camaro, I've even had it tuned out.
Its a damn shame that you people criticize someone who actually wants to get some performance out of the car while the rest of your worry about your wide body kits and "all show but no go" parts.
OP - You should be able to find what your rev limiter is on your manual. Your tires will also be rated for your top speed. If you have anything in the ZR and YR tire spec, the car should be rated for a speed limiter of 155mph. You're getting passed because you have economy gearing, 3.5 liters, and are about as aerodynamic as a block. As you go higher in mph, the air drag on the car will continue to increase, and eventually you reach the point where the car can no longer PUSH its way to faster.
On a final note, while I just told everyone to leave you alone, I do recommend you keep the "racing" to the strip. Over 100mph in many states is immediate trip to jail (I'm sure similar laws exist where you're from?). And if you want to have more fun, take it to a local autocross track on the weekend. Its a good opportunity to beat on the car, see its potential, and keep in a safe environment. After my wife's car is broken in, i plan to take her out and let her push the car. When my ZL1 arrives, and I break it in, I plan to go with her.

Perhaps yours is telling you about a speed limit is exceeded. Thats not a speed limiter. If you hit that speed limiter, you wouldn't be giving a cheesy peace symbol, you would be holding onto your wheel with 2 hands because the car just started decelerating quickly.
Plus, I wouldn't exactly be posting pictures, showing you breaking laws. Thats pretty incriminating.
