for some reason the OE tires just wear out much faster! i've seen the same tire brand go for much longer when bought outside of OE spec'd ones! i always felt that this is a ploy of some sort from not only lexus but other OEMs as well.
I worked for Firestone (Selling Bridgestones). On several occasions, it was explained to us by the reps that factory tires become much harder in the factories due to the fact that the vehicle manufacturer stock piles these tires and they can sit unused for over a year waiting to be installed. Its not that the tires are bad per say, they were just given a tough hand in life. Made sense to me.

I'm not sure if the tires on my non F Sport (but with the 18" wheel/tire upgrade) are the same as the F Sport ones. They are the Bridgestone Turanza EL400 all seasons. After about 9,000 miles, they are measuring at 8/32", so they've only lost 1/16" of tread depth. They will no doubt last longer than the 15k miles that I was warned about.

Approaching 11,000 miles and my Bridgestones are at 8/32nds. But I drive like a grandpa much of the time. I suspect I'll get another year or so out of these tires, then upgrade.

summer tires on F Sports are Turanza ER33, less than stellar reviews on Tirerack

I have the dunlop sp sport maxx 050 and the tires looks new after 36,000 km, thats a very good thread wear . On the other hand the noise is terrible , braking performance is bad and I can spin my tires in second gear which means their dry performance is bad too.

At 10K km, there's still a health amount of tread depth left on my Turanza's, but I would definitely change them for something better after this winter. Not that they are bad in winter, I simply want better traction. I would probably go with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3.
