What I didn't read anyone mention is Lexus roadside assistance. I thought they covered trip interruptions as long as you're at least 100 miles away from your home. Or does that only apply to warranty defects?

Your first clue on damage will be what threw that first CEL.

Yeah, man. A tech can do things efficiently and they have to in order to get paid. I was going to have lunch with a buddy of mine years ago and the guy was a Benz tech at the time. His first job of the day was chain and rails on a V12 and he started at 7:30. He pulled the motor to do it and was done by lunch. Maybe the shade tree mechanics don't know the value of a lift and proper tools.
