To drop a gas tank is 1-2 days work. This won't be solved by today. Additionaly, dropping the gas tank is only the first part. They will then need to get into the motor to see if anything from that doll got up in there.
Your first clue on damage will be what threw that first CEL.
Your best bet, get it diagnosed today, and then have it flat bedded home. Either way, you're not driving your car anywhere today.

Yeah, man. A tech can do things efficiently and they have to in order to get paid. I was going to have lunch with a buddy of mine years ago and the guy was a Benz tech at the time. His first job of the day was chain and rails on a V12 and he started at 7:30. He pulled the motor to do it and was done by lunch. Maybe the shade tree mechanics don't know the value of a lift and proper tools.
