Actually for 3IS, the F-sport cluster uses TFT while the non F-sport version is LCD (branded as Optitron gauges) according to Lexus Japan web site

TFT is a variant of LCD.

Thin-Film-Transistor Liquid-Crystal Display (TFT LCD).

Thanks for the correction.

Yes, you are correct.

Just want to point out the slight difference between the dash for F-Sport and non F Sport as I was surprised and disappointed by the quality control for the dash used in the F-Sport IS

Did you try disconnecting the battery and giving the car a hard reboot?

End up seeing illusions when you move your eyes around due all the noise.
if it occurs again at night, just stick a piece of paper in front of the cluster so that the light isn't blinding.

Sure did, I reset the car and everything in the car got reset.
Didn't work, but I left it overnight and everything started to function again.

Here's a crappy clip I made lol

Glad that it finally works without replacing the part. So it is a software glitch? Unbelievable and ridiculous.

Things happen. I don't think it's that shocking something goes wrong once in a while. It's under warranty, have it fixed. If it becomes a big problem with hoards of IS's, they likely step up their game like they always do (this is Lexus, remember?) and throw in a TSB or recall. This company has not let us down in the past and I doubt they will now. And for what it's worth, these screens have been around for a while... it's not new tech.

My car just did the exact same thing I just posted my own thread. I am most likely taking it to the dealer on Saturday
