Officer, can you tell me how fast I'm driving?
Unlocked my car, sat down and saw this.
I thought nothing of it, since I was late for an event I just drove.
I drove past a cop, not realizing how fast I was going, fortunately I didn't get pulled over.
I've tried several things to reset it, nothing seems to work. Looks like the LCD is broken, the car drives ok...
Couldn't tell what was going on without that cluster, but luckily my blackvue told me how fast I was going.
I never realized how dependent I was with that screen, looks like there is a huge flaw in this design.
No type of redundancy implemented, makes me nervous if this were to happen on a cross country road trip.
Anyone else experience this?
Model : 2014 IS350F
18,000 Miles.

Exactly the reason I passed on the F-Sport package. When you bring it in ask how much it would have cost if the warrantee was over. My guess is north of 2K. While very cool looking this digital gauge cluster is basically unproven. Remember the LFA was produced in very limited numbers and my guess is half to three quarters of them are now in the hands of collectors and aren't being driven much if at all. Assuming that is correct Lexus never really had the chance to shake the bugs out of this digital gauge cluster before dropping it into the IS.

I'm curious will the cluster still move to the right?
Isn't annoying to drive with that bright white light in your eyes?
Please post the dealership's estimate for repair... I'm curiou$ how much it would co$t without warranty...

The cluster still functions, when you press the button it moves left to right.
Everything else in the vehicle works, music, nav, steering wheel commands.
Yes it was very annoying, what's worse was my gf nagging about how many times I've brought the car in for service.
While I was driving with the bright light in my face, mind you it wasn't a short drive. Good thing the music was still functioning.
It was very difficult to drive at night, because of the white light burning into your eyes.
End up seeing illusions when you move your eyes around due all the noise.
The vehicle is going into service on Friday.
I neglected to note that, as of this morning, it seems to have fixed itself.
Unfortunately, everything on the instrument cluster was reset, tire pressure, gear shift doesn't show, messages, etc.
So this seems to be more than just an LCD problem.

The non F-sport version is also an LCD cluster as well. It just doesn't slide back and forth. A lot of cars are using LCD cluster's these days. By default, many of them are designed to look like traditional speedos and tachs, but are configurable to show other stuff on the screen. The new TT comes to mind.

True, but a large portion of your display is still LCD, so I'm not sure how the F-sport version is more likely to fail. Have you seen the display in the new Audi TT? This seems to be the way things are going, so hopefully the manufactures will be able to provide us with these cool new features, but make them reliable as well.

I'll throw a clip up when I'm out of the office.
I didn't fiddle with anything else, seeing how it's already been affected.
I'll let the dealership take care of it. I'm not taking a, "We cannot replicate the problem, so we can't fix it answer."
