If I understand correctly the larger the number the more light the tint will allow through, correct?
18% is what i have on mine and they are really dark ...so 15 would be a little darker it is hard at night for me to properly park my car close to a curb etc with tints i have to roll my windows down and mine are again only 18% carbon tint

Here is a pic. Suntek carbon 18% rear and back, 35% front. That car has red interior but you can't tell from looking in.

If I was going to do it again I would do 35 percent all around.

Old pic, but 35% 3M all around. Obsidian exterior/black interior. Looks lighter in the picture than in person. Might be the angle in which I took the pic

Yep that's right. Most cars these days already have factory tint, so when you put a tint, you need to take this into account.

Did you tint your front windshield? That is 78%, while the sides are 70%.

Your 35% on top of either of those windows would be 27.3% or 24.5%, and take into account a ± 5 tolerance on the read out.

I got this info from form member Jeff Lange, since he works for Toyota Parts and can access this info.

It must depend on the brand of tint because some of these 35% look way lighter than my 35%.

Which tint is best for the 3IS? 3M? Huper Optic? I'm going to get mine tinted today. I've never had a tint job I'd call great -- always find some imperfections. Going to Sunshield in Van Nuys.

I've used 3M twice, on my 2IS and now on my 3IS. No complaints at all.
