IS350 F- sport vs Audi S4 (2014)
#31
The S4 pulls hard across the whole range. I am sure it can be beat, but not by an IS350.
The IS is the better all rounder in my opinion, but in terms of performance the S4 is just in a different league. That is what an extra $14-$15k gets you. Also, keep in mind that Audi rates the S4 at 333hp, but it is known to be vastly underrated and many on Audizine report dyno numbers not far off that at the wheels. Do an ECU tune and possibly a stage 2 pulley swap and things get really interesting.

A close friend of mine has a 2012 S4 with pulley and ECU and it can pull from my other friend's 2011 E92 M3.
It can be beat but at least in C63 performance level.

That is true, the IS350 will most likely not win any performance tests with speed. But what it gives up there (lacking forced induction) I would agree it makes up for it with better reliability and driving characteristics.
The S4 was on the lot, they didn't have any S3's in stock yet either. Also when you put the numbers side by side the S3 costs as much as a similarily equiped A4. I already know how the A4 drives and if I can get an IS350 for less it's not even worth comparing. A normal person would consider driving a BMW, but I won't. Just the interior is what turns me away.
Went into Mercedes and tested out a 2015 C400. Now all the bells and whistles are nice, the interior is pretty simple and nice. The exterior styling isn't as bold as the F sport. The engine felt good, not up to the S4 quality, and they definetly put this more towards the luxury than sport category. But that will be for another thread in more detail. I also looked at the CLA, that aftermarket looking screen just looks too cheap imo.
I think I have to test drive the IS again, a 2015 model. The reason why I waited on the 2014's was honestly the lack of cooled seats in the F-sport for 2014. Yes that is something that I like and most vehicles in these categories don't offer it
Is it just me or are all of the European dealers adding ridiculous fees onto their prices. There is honestly over $2,000 of fees on the Audi and Mercedes that the Lexus dealers are including...
