Default 2015 IS 250 F Sport

I've been driving a 2010 IS 250 for almost two years and it's been nothing but a dream. No issues for the most part except the low profile tires which are horrendous here in New England.

I've been contemplating a change for a while and was considering the Audi A4 and Mercedes C300 but four mechanic buddies told me not to do it.

I can get a good deal on a brand new 2015 IS 250 F Sport but is it enough of an upgrade over what I have now?

Are they fun to drive, responsive handling etc. Most reviews I've read on auto sites don't have many positive things to say about them.

I think my IS 250 is fun to drive and acceleration is great, handling is great and responsive. I just love the new look from 2013 and on.

Is the F Sport package worth it? Does it add anything to it?

I want to get the bright white exterior with black interior.

Thanks for any input!

The looks alone make the new F-Sport worth it. The ultra white paint and honey combed spindle grill with the dark wheels make it a sure piece of eye candy. We can't keep them in the showroom.

I had a 2IS 250 and moving into a 3IS 250 F-Sport is a big difference from a performance standpoint:

- New tranny with RWD models; carryover for AWD, BUT both have shift/engine mapping improved for performance. For instance, when going in M mode, the gear you start at is not "4" like in the 2IS but the actual gear the auto transmission was in prior to moving into M-mode. The manual shifting is also quicker yet smoother.

- Body-roll is greatly reduced and car is more balanced and nimble.

- Engine note is more pronounced above 3500 rpm thanks to the F-Sport intake sound generator.

Good luck!

Are there any inexpensive modifications available after market to give it a little more get up and go?

Just got a brand new 2015 IS250 and it was really hard for me to go with the F Sport or none. I know the F sport came with aggressive grill, variable suspension, and the cool gauge cluster. if your going for comfortness, memory seats, and with fog lights go with the regular IS250.

F Sport disliked:
-no fog lights
-no memory seats
-stiff ride.

$1k for exhaust and cold air intake will help. It's knocked off 0.8s 0-60 from my AWD IS.

Just my opinion but my 2015 IS250 F sport feels like a huge step up from my 2011 IS250 F sport and the seats are soooo comfortable, also the sound resonator on the 3IS f sports makes them sound so much better than the old ones did (I always hated the way my 2IS engine sounded.) I really thought I was going to miss my 2011 but I don't. If you haven't test driven one, you should.

if you can afford the upgrade, why not? the newer cars are surely a step above the older gen but you just said you are happy with the 2IS. we are all going to say to upgrade around here .

in my opinion i would take a well equipped 2IS 350 over a 3IS 250 fsport. to me there is a huge difference between 250 and 350 across both generations.
