Allstate is a good insurance company. Just let them know you have added wheels to the car and it shouldn't be more , however if something happens to the wheels and you put the claim , than your insurance goes up. Make sure you keep the receipt.

On my current car, not lexus, I added about 20k worth of aftermarket parts. I called my insurance and they asked me to have the car appraised which they would then refund me for the cost of the appraisal.

The appraiser submitted the results and my insurance added all the aftermarket parts. Insurance went up of course but I was fully covered for everything.

Just curious, did the appraisal amount match the actual amount you've put into the car (cost of car + aftermarket parts)?

The appraisal was about $200. The premium on the insurance went up from 1000/yr to 1500/yr.

The appraisal was more than the amount I spent on aftermarket parts, mostly because I bought parts at less than the actual price listed. i.e., carbon fiber hood retailed for $1400, I purchased it for $700.
