My wife complained of the lack of a proper armrest on the console for the passenger. So I put together a little armrest pad to fix the issue. And when not in use it fits nicely in the glovebox.
I used a piece of 3/16" peg board that I cut to shape with a jigsaw. A couple layers of the foam that I had laying around that goes under laminate flooring. I used this because I wanted to keep the entire thing fairly thin while still providing a little bit of padding. And finally the outside material actually came off my MINI Cooper when I replaced the armrest covers with leather. This material is a synthetic material, however it matches pretty good to the interior of the IS.
I then stapled the outside material to the peg board and hot glued a piece of felt on the bottom to keep the staples from scratching anything. And then grabbed a few pieces of closed-cell foam I had laying around to keep the whole thing from sliding around.
The image just shows us an even better picture of how the center console could have been position way much better. Now it looks more finish and luxurious without having to see two cup holders cutting off the arm rest.

I don't really like how the bottom turned out and will probably revisit that with a more robust design. Maybe this weekend.
