Default Hardwiring a radar detector

I've been searching on the forum and haven't found anything conclusive. I pulled down the overhead console and there are two harnesses but nothing like this link https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ew-mirror.html. I was wondering if you guys could help me out. Thanks.

I wired mine into the fuse box under the steering column. I can't remember which fuse, just a powered acc fuse. No issues.

im sure there is, but dont know the wiring diagram to know what colors you need to tap into. My detector is mounted just above the center speaker grille, and the escort smart code silence button is mounted behind my wiper stalk, all wires are hidden

That makes sense. I'm hoping that someone has or can find the diagram. I have my V1 on a visor clip on the visor. That is why I want to use the overhead console.

Get a mirrortap from link below then tap blue wire (ignition power) and purple (ground) it's right from blue wire.

http://www.mirrortap.com/mt2000.html#Micro

Pin 1 (Blue): Ignition Power
Pin 2 (Puple): Ground
Pin 3 (not on ewd?)
Pin 4 (Green): Signal for light control
Pin 5 (White): Signal for light control (both are MPX)
Pin 6 (Pink): Power

Pin 1 is fused with the 10A IG1 NO.3 fuse
Pin 6 is fused with the 10A MPX-B NO.1 fuse

Did you do this with your IS? I looked at the back of the rear view mirror and there isn't a harness there.

Yes. Your car doesn't have auto dim mirror? Did you pull down the plastic cover to find the connector?

Yes it does. The plastic cover on the mirror housing? Because I've dropped the overhead console and no such luck. Thanks for your help.

There's a cover in front of mirror on the glass. It looks like this. Remove the cover by sliding down on the cover, you can see the wire harness slightly. You can then pull off the cover after sliding down this cover. Ignore the other wire on the outside. It's my dash cam wire.

Since you're right next-door in NC, I thought I'd pass along the tip that the use of a detector is illegal in adjacent VA....though you may have one in your car if it is turned off. The state troopers have detector-detectors.....and can tell when you are using one. If so, they have the right to stop and search....confirmed by the courts. Penalties include a fine and/or impoundment of the device. No warnings. No excuses.

Texas, though, even with higher speed limits, has a reputation for some pretty tough cops.
