Default Navigation - Can't Use During Driving

I just ordered my new 2015 Lexus IS 350 AWD w/F-Sport Package and noticed in one of the reviews that the navigation cannot be used while driving. Please tell me there's a way to disable this lock? What's to say the passenger in my car isn't the one using it and entering the address as I drive. This happens quite often when my wife is in the car with me.

Thanks

install a beatsonic nav/dvd bypass kit. What it lets you do is you press a button to unlock the nav for a time period so you can use it. For that time period your position on the screen wont update until the timer interval is over. Also the bypass also lets you watch DVD movies while the car is in motion instead of being in park and parking brake on

That was also going to be my next question. Is there a DIY post somewhere with pictures so we can see how it's installed?

The nav is still functional and usable during driving. However, some functions become only accessible via voice command, such as entering an address. Frankly, I always use voice commands for that anyway, or just send the address from my phone or use Destination Assist.

I actually did the install yesterday. It's not difficult at all. Just removing some panels and screws. Then plug and play. It comes with step by step directions

Thanks sdotk. Where there any tricky parts to remove that could have led to broken pieces etc. I find sometimes removing panel components can be tricky with plastic clips etc.

I removed the panels with some tools I bought off amazon. The only part I had difficulty was getting the socket wrench in such a small space to remove the nails

Just use the voice commands. It works even faster than your passenger entering address or what not even with override box installed.
