Wish the IS 250 (non F) came in manual!

I miss a manual every day.

I just came from 3 manuals in a row and don't really miss it. My other cars had less power and as such the extra control was helpful to keep me in the sweet spot of the engine. In this car, with the power anytime I need it, paddle shifters are good enough when I want to have a bit more fun. I appreciate the day to day convenience now quite a bit actually

I can live with the paddle shifters. Nice to be able to sip your coffee in traffic and not always clutch-in, etc...I'm gonna leave the 3IS cupholders out of this because that's a whole other thread...

Really?! That's so surprising. How so? This is my first Lexus so I wouldn't know. All of my previous cars have been manual so this is an adjustment! The paddles shifters are fine and everything, but obviously not the same. If you have an automatic, why bother with them at all?

That'd be a dream. But I'm not holding my breath. The take-rate on the last-gen 6-speed manual was low, and it wasn't a very good tranny at that.
I enjoy rowing my own gears and the man-machine connection. However in my last (automatic) rental car, a co-worker asked if I'd tried to mash the dead-pedal thinking it was a clutch. I honestly confessed I hadn't. Hmmm...

Is it just here in the US that is killing off MT? Especially for the premium to luxury brands, and anything with a V6 engine.
