I just tried to have my local dealer install the Black Pearl front emblem on my IS350, but they said that because I have the dynamic radar cruise control and the sensor/radar is right behind the emblem and the radar requires a flat surface to work correctly. They said that the dimpled surface of the black pearl emblem will interfere with the functionality of the radar.

Does anyone have any information about this?

The Sewell Lexus page has installation instructions that cover the option where cars have the dynamic radar, but the instructions may be generic any emblem and probably doesn't imply that a dimpled emblem will be compatible with the radar system.

If this doesn't work, I will have an emblem for sale soon, or will need to return it to Sewell.

Yeah the dimpled black front chrome emblem I put on came with instructions that stated the front will NOT work with the sensors. I didn't buy them from sewell, but assume they are the same. They look the same as the front emblem on my 2IS. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Black pearl emblem will not work with radar cruise. There's a reason why Lexus used clear case emblem
