Unhappy Totalled USB after 1 month of ownership :*(

I was told I was first to own a USB RWD and now I am probably the first to have one written off? It was a long 4-5 month wait and once I received the car I enjoyed every moment. I just passed the first service!

End of May I was on my way to work minding my own business when a Kia Forte decided to not stop at an intersection and T-boned me...driver side. I remember looking left to see his grill and then I woke up in the corner. Shortly after hospital. Health wise I am doing well, suffered lacerations, concussion, aches and pains. Been to physio and all the clinics for those wondering, I'm happy to be alive.

Both cars were written off and of course it wasn't my fault.

Here is my build thread, not much done except lowered and spaced out wheels. I was just about to order Lexon stuff too!

I had big plans for this car, but with the blink of an eye everything changes. Met some really cool people during my short ownership and learned a lot and loved the car. Thank you for the memories and drive safe.

I can upload more photos of the car all apart at the claim center, but it's horrible to look at. Everything is bent and warped!! Will make you cringe for sure haha!

Painful to look at So sorry, I know how it feels because my first Lexus IS that I waited a year to get was hit at 4 months old, by someone running a stop sign. My whole passenger side looked like your car but they wouldn't write it off and repaired it. Sounds like you are not planning on another IS?

The lesson is that nothing we own can bring lasting peace because it and our lives can be taken in a blink of an eye. The real wealth is in the really cool people you meet on the journey.

I'm sorry to see this happened to your USB. It makes me think how this can also happen to mine and how defensive we must be in driving. I'm really glad you're ok and recovering well! I assume the airbags deployed - though not sure I can see them from the pic.

Thanks for posting and keep us abreast on future health and car plans.

How fast was the guy going? That looks pretty bad, but at least it's not "it should've killed you" bad

Hey man I'm happy to hear you're doing well... no matter how much you love a car, it's still a car and can be replaced!

I don't see the airbags... did they deploy?

This is also a testament of how protective a Lexus can be WRT accidents

Glad to see you are recovering well. That looked like quite the hit. Probably some frame damage is the reason for totaling. If totaled, are you not going to replace it with a new one? Insurance check on the way, correct?

Very sad to see man. Good to hear you are recovering fine. Let me know if you will part anything if ICBC determines it's totalled.
