I put $2500 down (positive equity of a negotiated trade in) and pay $482.91 for 27 month /10k miles on my IS350 Fsport. Don't recall the sale price at the moment.

Question from someone who has never leased -- I never see anyone discuss the per mile overage charge when summarizing a lease deal. Is this because it's one flat per mile rate that doesn't vary between contracts so everyone already knows the cost? Or is it just that most folks are confident enough they will stay under mile allowance that they don't worry about it?
It just seems like an important term of the contract to me. Not knowing exactly how many miles per year I might need to put on a car is one of the reasons I won't lease.

Usually there is an per mile charge after you have passed you allowed miles per you lease. Its usually .20 to .30 cent a mile and usually if you lease another car from the dealer they will cut in half the overage amount of miles you went over....... or even just waive it.

drbazing, do you mind sharing which dealership in CA you got the lease from? Who did you work with? I have been contacting several SoCal dealerships and feel like they don't seem too enthused. Perhaps they have a lot of demand lately... Thanks for the info.

Been looking at leasing and was reading up on MSDs.
Is there any reason NOT to use them to lower your MF/interest rate if you have the money available to do the max? I can't really find any downsides as it literally sounds like you are giving the dealer your money to hold and you get a pretty decent return on interest? Kind of like a CD in a bank?
