Default For those over 10.5K miles

I ran into a fellow Lexus owner at a gas station who started chatting me up about my IS-350 fsport. He had an Ls and was really taken back by the car. He saw it was AWD, then proceeded to tell me that I will enjoy the car when I have around 10-11K on it. I didnt really believe him. He mentioned the rationale behind his statement and said the divetrain would loosen a bit and the car would be more reactive. Well, I have about 10.5K on the OD. Lately, when I hit the gas the car goes. I dont get it. Its hotter than the devils nuts here in MD ( 90's and humid). I'm bone stock outside of being dropped on rs*r downs. Yet, the last few weeks the car does feel faster. Anyone else experiencing this. The guy told me he's had 6 Lexus's all AWD and this is very common. I just wanted to poll the group to see if I lost my marbles or not

FYI - I only use Shell or Sunocco gas .

Cars in general tend to get a slight bit faster and have slightly better mileage as they break in, so it wouldn't surprise me.

I had a 2009 Honda Accord i had purchased new previous to this car, and it didn't really get broken in until about 30,000km. After about 30k km, I started getting better mileage, better acceleration etc. But perhaps mine took longer because I didn't really drive the car hard, it was a daily driver just to get to school and back.

There have been a few comments around various threads here that have made this point, so you're not the only one.

I just had the 10k service done, and they gave me a loaner 3is with about 4k miles. Only diff is I have an intake, so I knew there would already be a diff, but I can definitely see that too. Just seemed like something was not quite there in the throttle response, aside that it was too quiet. lol

Then again, it could be that I just really missed my car.
