I'm from Australia and we didn't get the 2IS IS350 until 2011 facelift (6 years after the initial IS250 launch). Naturally, we now have the IS250/IS350 3IS along with the IS300h and CT200h.

The 2IS IS300 was sold in some countries because of poor fuel quality so I think they took the direct injection part out... not sure if they still have that model.

I am envious of US pricing and the range of other cars we don't get though

$50k in Australia buys you a top of the line Camry LOL. $80-90k = IS350, $110k = 335i, $225k = LS600h, $750k = LFA, $1.35m = Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead.... oh god, how I would love to pay US car prices..

Lexus should have different strategy for different markets. I don't know if they are mutually exclusive in other markets since the CT is technically a cheaper car than IS, but in my opinion, in the US, the CT may cannibalize IS300h sales, so they simply kept the offering to 250/350. So if people want a hybrid, they have to go for either the CT or the ES. Besides the 250/350 is better at under cutting the 328/335i in terms of pricing, performance and value. 3 series sales is really good especially in the bay area, Lexus needs to stay competitive here in the US against BMW, they can't do it with IS300h in my opinion.
