Default Traction Control Off Improves Mileage?

I been trying to save gas since i drive like 52 miles daily to go work with my 2014 Lexus...

I turn traction control off (by holding off on the traction off button) *only at slow speed..

it seems to improve my mileage per gallon by about 1~2 mpg?

i am getting 23~24 now........

can someone test this?? (i am driving on normal mode) as i found out that eco mode doesn't really save gas at all..... and sport mode / + mode only keep car at 5th gear instead of 8th gear.

Very interesting. I've only been driving in Eco mode hoping to save gas. I'll have to turn off my traction control to see my mpg difference.

Never use Eco mode it turn Ur car to a 4 cylinder lol!! When the car in Eco mode I don't feel like I'm driving a v6 car !! As soon as I got my car from the dealer I put it in normal mode.

There is no such thing as saving gas with traction control off. There is no extra pull or friction caused by this feature unless you are driving very aggressively or trying to spin your wheels on purpose. Traction control is there for those unexpected slips in wet weather and should remain on as a safety feature.

All the ECO mode does is retard the throttle response so you accelerate slower/smoother. And it regulates the AC for more efficiency. It does not turn the car into a 4 cylinder. It's funny to see all the wrong info being posted with such confidence!

I tried turning off my traction control this morning on the way to school, but it wouldn't turn off. I tried in Eco/Normal/Sport modes. Any reason why?

You have to be stationary. Then press and hold the trac off button for few seconds till it shows on the instrument cluster.

It's too bad you have to be stationary to turn it off, what's the reason behind this?

It'll save gas on the street if moving like 20 mph. On the freeway it's way more efficient to have windows up & AC.

Probably to prevent turning it off while driving, I suggest to drive the car with it on.

Yup, my audi even warns me if my windows are open when cruising on the HW with AC on.
