Default Very rough ride in Normal Mode

The last few days I've noticed an extremely rough ride when in Normal Mode. In sport + mode I noticed a bit of a smoother ride where the bumps weren't as harsh. Which is the complete opposite of what's supposed to happen. My tire pressure is 36 and reaches 39-40 when hot. No clue why this is happening, should I be worried ? Should I lower the tire pressure a little maybe to much air is causing the harsh ride? Or should I reset the battery because my car is stuck in sport + mode when it should be normal. Would really like some help here guys I am a little concerned

39-40 is normal when tires are warmed up. 3IS is actually more comfortable than the 2IS. My 2IS Sport Package was harsher than Sport+ For your car to be stuck in sport+ the actuators on the shocks that change the dampening setting would have to be not working also.

i dropped the tire pressure down to 34psi when cold and drove the car and it was noticeably better. so either my tire pressure gauge off my a couple pounds which i don't think because the reading it gives me is the same reading that shows up in the car. Or now i will keep less air in the tires when cold because these hot summer days are bringing up the psi to the point where the ride becomes harsh.

can anyone tell me if this would be okay for the car? as long as the car is above 36psi when hot i should be fine right? driving around for a few with 33-34 psi shouldn't do any harm right?

You'll do no harm at 33-34 psi, although your mileage may suffer (marginally). With those pressures, I can't imagine your tires would separate from the rims. Also, most tire gauges are notoriously inaccurate, and can differ by several pounds. Consumer Reports recommends this: Accutire MS-4004B, which is a digital gauge for about $20. I picked up one from Amazon.com a few months ago

From what I have understood, the ambient temps really only affect the cold pressure of the tire. So as the temps drop, the cold temps drop also. That is why it is good to check and adjust the pressure often during temp/season changes. The weather doesn't reall affect the tire pressure psi rate once they are fully warmed up and should be at the same psi rating wether it is hot or cold out, as long as your cold psi is the same. But cold wether might affect how fast they warm up. I could be wrong though.

Here is a great go by I use: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=73

I think mine hover around 36-37 cold. Even just twenty mins of driving around in average temp and they are 40-41. Ride is pretty rough too, even in Normal mode.

What psi would i be worried about the tires reaching on a long drive if it is hot outside, if at all?
