The truth about delivery time
Dealers tell me an ordered 350 F Sport will take 3 to 4 months to arrive in the northeast. I suspect they are trying to unload a car in their stock. What is the actual time it takes to get delivery on a ordered car ?

I got lucky with mine. I walked into the dealership wanting to order expecting a waiting list since it was last July when the car just came out. Next thing you know I walked out with a key on my hand lol. I got the last fully loaded F sport 300h of the entire city. Next batch is 3 months later.

There are cars at other dealerships they can swap to get.
There are cars at port they can get if they have not been assigned yet.
There are cars on the water they can get if they have not been assigned yet.
Then there is ordering.
It can take 2-5 months. It depends. Look at some of the other options I listed and tell your dealer to do some work.

This was what it was for me. I wanted a UW/Black 250 F-Sport and they didn't have any at the dealership or any dealership near me with that exact configuration. They had one but it didn't have NAV. I ordered mine around August 18th, 2013 and picked it up September 1st, 2013.

At least your dealer gave you that option. I went to buy a car on the 15th and they had 2 in stock. A black and dark blue in the base model. I asked 2 people of I could get one from another dealership or order and was told NO that I had to pick if I wanted them to do the deal. Being a female they think they got one over on me. I am pretty educated when it comes to car buying (my dad had had over 50 cars in his life) I should have known they were lying, actually I did but I was just caught up in getting the new car. I had the car for a week before I went back to the dealer and told them it was unacceptable and ended up exchanging the car out with the color I wanted, but paying a little more because I upgraded to the F sport.

1) If the cars at a local dealership you're looking at within a week
2) Depends how far the dealer - 1 to 2 weeks is a safe bet
3) If the car is at port, it's within a week to week an half - it took me 3 days as the port in NJ is close to Brooklyn
4) If the car is in the water, thats a crap shoot, depends on where it is on the water. I've heard as short as 2 weeks to 3 months

Personally, if I had to do all over again I'd get the Canadian F-Sport Executive (I miss the heated steering wheel) since CAD is almost at 10% discount to the USD and you can get a fully loaded F Sport for the same price of a starter IS350. Not sure how that works with extended warranties though.
