Capped off Hoses by Cam Gear Box
Hey. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on why I have two capped off hoses, one on each side of the cam gear box. I am not as framiliar with this engine as much as my LS1. Why would the previous owner cap these off and what are they? Anyinfo is greatly appreciated, thanks!

By looking at this picture, you have an IS300, so unfortunately wrong subsection.
The backing plate on the 2jz was used in previous versions that had a vacuum line running from one side of the engine to the other. The IS300 does not need that line, so it was left open instead of making another backing plate without one. All of them have this.

^^ what he said.
They can be left open as there is No Vacuum running through them, but can be used to connect from one side to the other, such as needed for perhaps a turbo application...
