1) From the pics/vids I've seen, it looks like the 3IS avoids the chrome/shiny interior parts that reflect sunlight (like the steering wheel logo, gearshift **** etc). Is that the case or is it just as bad as in the 2IS?

2) Is NuLuxe more durable than leather, and how distinguishable is it from leather (would occasional passengers notice the difference)?

1) All the metallic trim pieces are matte finished so no no glare. Its very matte inside for the dash and trim

2) None of my passengers noticed the difference unless i told them. Its a little coarser than leather, so more grippy. Its tougher and harder to scratch. Since its synthetic I see no need to use conditioning oil on it, what is there to condition? It also doesnt wrinkle as badly as real leather does

I'd like to also add to point #2:

The Nuluxe is honestly awesome. Nobody (not even my wife, who is always in the car) knows it's not real leather and everybody LOVES it. Just last night a friend sat in the car and said the seats had the nicest leather they've ever seen. I just smiled. Nobody will be able to tell. I don't miss leather at all, except for the smell.

I have NuLuxe on my (non F Sport) IS and I love it. I bought my IS the same week I bought my RX. The leather in my RX is already showing some wear and requiring maintenance, while the NuLuxe in my IS looks like the day I bought it. Granted, it's only been 7 months, but we're off to a good start!

I agree that NuLuxe does not need the use of conditioning to maintain the softness but if you do condition NuLuxe seats and you have red interior you will notice that the color becomes so rich and it stays this way for long time. I really recommend to condition it once and see the difference.

Something like Mother's leather conditioner. It really transformed the dull red color to a really bright red one. I did it like two months ago and the color is still rich. It looks like from a Lexus magazine

you don't really need to 'condition' lexus leather in the sense that any creams or oils made for uncoated leather should be applied as the leather is coated with polyurethane and so it's to be protected/conditioned as such.

nuluxe looks pretty good, although it's totally distinguishable for those who are familiar enough with leather products.
