Default First Car

This past week I purchased my first car, a 2014 IS250 with the F sport package in ultrawhite.

So I have a few questions:

1. What's the best custom fit sun shade for the car?
2. Can someone tell me more about opticoat? If I use it, do I NEVER have to wax my car again!?
3. I'm digging the front and rear black Lexus badges, where can I find those and how much are they?

Mahalo for taking a look!

P.S Any sort of tips about anything would be appreciated!

Aloha,
Ryan.

Heat Shield Gold Series is a great custom fix sunshield. They provide a nice protective bag for storage. I don't believe that any type of paint protection will eliminate the need to periodically hand wax a car to remove tar, tree sap and road grime.

Congratulations on buying your first car.

Thanks Hoosier!

Any recommendations on wax?

I'm currently looking at the NXT tech wax 2.0.

And interior care products?

i recommend weekly washing with Turtle wax ICE car wash

followed by Turtle wax liquid wax.

the wax will give the water relevancy and decent enough shine.

I second this answer. I use the same products and my car looks great! Turtle Wax Ice Premium Car Wash and Liquid Wax works really well.

You can get the dark badges from eBay. Got mine there. Rear badge is the same as 2013 ES.

If you pop on over to the Automotive Care and Detailing thread you'll find a tremendous amount of information on washing/detailing. This thread is a good place to start:

As for OptiCoat, I have it on both of my cars and love it. I highly recommend it. It should last for about 3 years when properly applied.

I use Tech Wax 2.0 and have also used Turtle Ice on previous cars. The Ice product works very good on dark colors. Never take your car to an automatic car wash and follow-up each wash with spray detailer or wax. The IS car design is prone to road grime being thrown up on the sides of the car.

Hoosier, I was recommended by a friend tech wax 2.0. I was thinking about trying that out.

Hey Larry, I'm located in the Honolulu area!

I've been using Tech Wax 2.0 for years. Works great even on my black Harley. It's very easy to apply.

Nice! Congrats on the first car It's the best feeling ever

My first was a '12 Honda Civic and even with my upgrade, that car always holds a special place in my heart. You must totally be lovin' it !
