2014 IS F Sport - Loud, Clunking / Thumping Noise
To All Owners of the IS F Sports (2014),
Please be advise that Lexus is aware of a particular clunking/thumping noise when you go over a bump. Lexus (R&D) IS NOT DOING about this or correcting this problem unless enough of us owners file complaints with the dealership and/or to the Lexus Headquarter. This is a known problem throughout the IS F Sport series so please contact your dealership and made the case with the dealership. You can request your dealership to have a Lexus Specialist to assess your vehicle and make sure they file the case with Lexus Headquarter. After the assessment, they MAY you that nothing can be done at this time but since you have reported the problem with Lexus, they will have to eventually correct the design flaw of the vehicle!!
Please contact your dealership IMMEDIATELY and made them known of this problem!
Thank you all!

4TehNguyen,
The noise that I am referring to isn't the parking brake tension. This noise sounds like the car has bottomed out when you go over even the slightest bump. I use the parking brake on a daily basis and the noise is always there. I

Currently, I have 550miles on my 2014 Lexus Is250 F-Sport. I am experiencing the same clicking noise from both rear suspensions when I run thru a bump. It sounds like if the suspension is about to fall off. It is pretty loud with rear windows down. Is this the same issue you guys are experiencing too? Or is it a different issue?

What I experience-- and was confirmed by the dealership-- was a leaky shock causing the suspension to bottom out over larger dips/pot holes or when the vehicle had 2 passengers in the back seat. The sound I heard was your typical harsh thud of ramming the bump stop.
I recommend you remove your wheels and check the state of your struts to confirm they are not faulty. Look for excessive amounts of dirt/grime in comparison to the other shocks as a quick tell.

@saewoo - that is the same issue i have described in the post. It appears only in the F Sports that has this thumping/clunking noise. Lexus headquarter is aware of this noise but is currently not doing anything about it unless all F Sport owners mentioned to this to the dealer. This has to be reported since this maybe a design flaw in the F Sport. Bring your car back to the dealership and have a Lexus Regional Specialist inspect your vehicle. The technicians you see at the dealership will not be aware of this. Request the shop foreman to go for a test drive with you and let him hear the sound. They have to report this to Lexus Headquarter.
@Sonik, the case you have described is not what I am experiencing in my vehicle. This is a completely different situation. My shocks and struts have been fully inspected and there were no leaks.

@dman168 I went to the dealership regarding this issue on Saturday. The supervisor went on the road test with me to hear what the problem was. He told me to leave the vehicle for inspection but after few hours later they called me saying there is no problem with the suspension. The sound was due to how the e-brake was designed. It was the e-brake that was making the sound and they are saying it is properly working. Just concerns me that why did they even designed it like that... hm..
