Can you change lane change flasher from 3 flashes to more?
#17
Great stuff I'm learning from this thread. Just 2 questions:
1) why does the wiper have something to do with the flasher?
2) why don't they make this a setting we can change like the headlight timer?

Doesn't seem to work on 2015 IS250
Follow this procedure. It may take a couple of times to get it right, but it works.
1.) Ignition off, doors closed
2.) Hold the wiper switch in the full up position. (this is the wiper off position)
3.) While holding the wiper switch in the full up position, turn the IG on. (two presses of the start/stop switch)
4.) Hold wiper switch in the full up position for 5 seconds
5.) Move the wiper switch down one "click" or "notch", hold for 5 seconds
6.) Move the wiper switch back to the full up position, hold for 5 seconds
7.) Move the wiper switch down one "click" or "notch". hold for 5 seconds (same position as step 5)
8.) Move the wiper switch back to the rest position (neutral)
If this was done correctly, the right turn signal will flash once.
To adjust how many flashes you want, you change the intermittent wiper speed switch. P1 starts with the speed switch all the way at the bottom, P4 will be the top speed. This is found on the wiper stalk.
P1: 3 blinks
P2: 5 blinks
P3: 7 blinks
P4: Function turned off
Set the intermittent wiper speed to the desired setting.
Use the Turn Signal stalk and push down like you want to activate the left turn signal, the flashers should activate
If the turn signal blinks once, you change it to the "3 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks twice, you changed it to the "5 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks three times, you changed it to the "7 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks four times, you turned the function off.
Once this is done, cycle the ignition switch off, and back on, and it should be changed.

Or... is there another process for 2015s?
Thanks in advance.

I have a 2015 and got this to work. I changed it to 5 flashes. The tricky part is the identifying the "notch" in Step 5. It's not as far as you think and quite easy to miss. Once I found the sweet spot, the rest was easy.

2015 process
computerwi & NVMarkus - Thanks for your feedback thus far. Could you please confirm the below just to make sure I'm understanding the steps correctly.
Thanks again.
- Step 3 - after 2 pushes of the Start/Stop button, I should be in "Ignition On" mode - correct?
- Step 3 - after 2 pushes of the Start/Stop button, the windshield wipers go in motion and stay in motion.
- Steps 5 & 7 - this notch is essesntially the "lane change" mode?
- Steps 8 - this is just releasing the stalk go so it goes back to it's "at rest" position?
Thanks again.

Also, Kudos to you for actually researching the topic instead of posting a new thread for a question that has already been answered.

I'd recommend just "liking" the post as a way to show gratitude so that you are not reviving (bumping) 8+ year old threads.... which is generally frowned upon lol. However I think you should get a free pass since this is not a commonly asked question and is likely not considered to be common knowledge.

I changed mine on Day 1. I used to do it for customers cars, to me 3 is just too little. It's needlessly complicated the dance you have to do while chewing gum and rubbing your belly at the same time. I believe it was the LS or some other car you could access it in a menu that I did really easily. Oh well.

The procedure does work. I've done it for my 2020 and 2023 IS350. Dealer claims no such adjustment can be made.
I keep it written down on a piece of paper just in case.

I did it tonight on my 2023. The last step tripped me up. It is a gentle press of the indicator stalk, as if I want to use the lane change/rapid flash indicator.

Their Lexus Technology Specialist should have know about it. But I was an O.G. LTS so maybe they don't know anymore or teach their sales or service peeps. I have the sheet of instructions for the dance that I'll scan it later.
