Lexus IS Next to Get Turbocharged 4-Cylinder

IMHO the FR-S is a bit boring. My friend has it and I drove it and was not impressed at all. There was so much hype about it and all but it just feels like an underpowered small car. It is supposedly the same speed as my 3IS 250 F-Sport but I felt more fun driving that. There was more torque and it really pushed you into your seat. This is just my opinion not me trying to decide for you.

Two completely different cars. If you completely wring out an FR-S, it is an absolute blast. Curvy roads are a requirement to really enjoy it. If you don't like to keep it 4k and up the whole time, it isn't the car for you. The IS is a great all around car... jack of all trades. But, it is also 700lbs heavier than an FR-S and it will never feel as light on its feet as an FR-S just the same way an FR-S will never have the thrust of an IS350. I just have to decide which side of my enthusiast brain I want to appease.

Not necessarily the base engine. BMW offers the 320i (180hp 2.0T) and Caddilac offers an ATS 2.5L 4 cyl as the base engine. The 2.5L V6 could stick around as a base engine with the 2.0T being midrange like BMW and Caddy do.

I think the 2.0t will have more hp and torque than the na 2.5, so I don't think we'll see a 2.5na anymore. Most likely we'll only see 3.0t and 2.0t in the future, because I remember reading somewhere that Lexus made a public statement about not wanting to degrade their brand to compete with the cla and 320i, which means they are comfortable with their space in the market using the 2 tiered offering. Plus we know car companies are all moving towards smaller and more efficient engines to save on production costs and to improve fuel efficiency.

The 250 motor has been on the chopping block since end of 2012...
They just couldn't get it all done in time for the MY14 IS Launch or MY15 update..
Soo you all have to wait for MY16 for the IS200t
Same for the RC200t .....
