F sport with 1500 miles, not starting this AM. Not very happy!
Car is 6 weeks new, just clicking away when the start button is depressed, so I'm sure its just the battery. I've called Lexus roadside already as my other vehicle left 2 hours ago and quite honestly, I'm not about to boost my own brand new car anyway.
So, the big question is - WHY?
Car has been driven, almost every day to work which is 20 miles each way. Battery must be draining somehow. All terminals seem connected well. No doors were open or ajar overnight. Trunk was closed etc. No interior lights on.
Naturally, I'm very disappointed and VERY irritated, that I have to deal with this crap. This is the 4th or 5th new car I've bought (first Lexus) and I've never ever experienced anything even remotely close to this.
The worst thing is that I can't get to work and run my business which is costing me, big time. And, I'm obviously worried about a larger issue. I really, really don't want to have to deal with chronic battery issues and charging problems like a 19 year old in a 1979 Datsun.

i had a strange battery outage one time on my car. I had a 120VAC battery charger so I plugged it in and let it juice up a bit and it started. It's been fine since. I still have no idea what caused it. I might have left an interior light on because I was showing off my LED interior lights the day before.

There's another thread about this battery issue and I was one of the lucky ones to have had this problem too during my first 1000 miles. I had Lexus check it out and they said the battery drained somehow then just boosted it and no problem ever since.

They changed the battery in my 2IS shortly after I got it because they said the diagnostic check they did on it said it was about to fail. After that it never needed another battery change.
I didn't see what battery was before the change so I don't know if they build it with a weak battery and then the dealership puts a more reliable battery or if they just have bad batches from their supplier, but it seems to be common problem with Lexus. Many Lexus owners need their battery changed and then after that it's good. I know this probably doesn't make you feel better, but at least its a battery problem and not a problem with the electronic power system.

Ok, back home after half a day getting to the dealership and back.
Battery is defective, so I'm glad you guys were right and my fears were not realized.
So, they replaced the battery and all is well.
My overall experience at Lexus service for the first time? Very good. Staff was awesome, and they got me in quickly considering appointments are a 3 week wait. My only complaint? Wish they were a little closer to my house. Dealer is Dorshcel Lexus in Rochester, NY.
