PROBLEM: Phone keeps connecting and disconnecting!

Two people have asked me what part they had to order to fix the issue with my car. I don't know what the part was, but the dealer said it had to do with the phone, navigation, and radio. Hope this helps.

When you plug your iPhone into the USB to charge, it can put the phone into iPod mode and interfere with the bluetooth. The phone tends to think your trying to use it as an iPod. Like other users have stated, use the cigarette lighter port to charge your phone. You shouldn't have any issues after that.

I was having problems with my Galaxy S4 connecting and disconnecting intermittently. Tried the wife's iPhone 5 and had no problems.
Deleted the Bluetooth profile from both the phone and car and started all over again. I chose not to have the car download my text messages from my phone and now I can stream my music and can have a phone call with out worrying about the Bluetooth connection dropping.
Stupid that I can't have my messages downloaded, but I'll take the compromise.

Getting "iPod Error" in my new 2015 ES 350 Crafted Line
Just got my car a week ago, I'm having the same problem. Its annoying. My iPhon 5s works fine in Bluetooth mode. But when my phone is low and I want to charge it, I plug it in through USB and the music stops every 15 seconds, I get "iPod Error" and the Audio shuts off. I even tried turning off Bluetooth (from my phone) while my phone is plugged in. I select my Phone (USB) from the MEDIA section and music plays normally but for only a minute, then I get the same "iPod Error" message and the audio shuts off. I either have to do what others are saying, get an adapter for the lighter or take it in to get it fixed. While at Lexus, the specialist didn't really know of this problem. Also, the Tech did know of this, gave me a work around (select Lexus from the air drop switch, its the option when you swipe up from the bottom of your phone, you see an option for airplay, etc. ...you will see option for "Lexus - bluetooth" or "Dock Connector" ....select Lexus and it plays for a bit. But after leaving dealer, I kept getting the same error. If I find I get this fixed, will let you know.

I have the same issue on my '14 IS350 Fsport as well. This is by far the most annoying part of this generation of Lexus telematics. I have noticed that the error occurs when data networks switch from LTE to 4G; etc. I'm on the T-Mobile network now, but noticed this while I was with at&t as well. I have an iPhone 5.

I've had this issue with my 3IS as well. Sometimes it happens for a couple of seconds and then goes away. It always happens when I'm playing music from my Galaxy S5. At least, it doesn't happen every day

I had the same problem a couple months ago. It would cut out in the middle of songs and stuff right?
What I did was reset my settings on both my phone (bluetooth) and my car settings.
Go specifically into the Bluetooth settings and reset them. Change the name... everything.
It works perfectly fine now.
Or if you can update the software on your phone, that'd probably help too .

You can't have it connected to Bluetooth and have it plugged in USB or it will keep shutting itself off (i.e. IPOD error). If you are going to plug it in USB then just use the USB to play the music. Basically, disconnect the Bluetooth so the phone is running on the USB instead. If the problem continues try restarting you phone.

I've since switched to a Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910W8, Android 4.4.4) and everything works perfectly.

Alright, this issue was bugging me a while ago too. After a bit of research on the forums I found out it was as simple as this :
When your phone reaches a certain number of text messages that are stored on it, this bug happens (disconnect and connect over and over again). The solution is this : unpair/forget the phone from the car and pair it again. When the car asks about syncing your messages, say NO (call logs and contacts are OK). This solved my issue. Of course you don't get to see your messages on the screen anymore, but it's a small compromise to actually be able to enjoy full bluetooth connectivity... I love Spotify in my car
Hope it helps!

Last night mine got upgraded to Android 5.1. Since this morning I have started experiencing Bluetooth disconnects. It does not stay connected for more than 1 minute. I have tried this in my garage with the vehicle parked. Deleted my Bluetooth and paired it again. No luck.
I am going to delete the bluetooth profile from my cell phone and test again. Will let you know
