Default Lease for is250

Do you guys think I got ripped off?? Sorry a bit new to most terms this is from what I have gathered

This was from Cerritos (Los Angeles) Area Dealer

MSRP: 37.538.00
Sale Price:36.841 i think
On my contract it says gross capitalized price 35801 plus acquisition fee and maintenance agreement it went up to 36841

I'm still not sure what MF stands for when some people say that
My residual value is 24775
10k miles
36 month lease
Monthly payments of 389 including taxes
Started off as 27 months for 352 but they kinda talked me into 36 for 378 plus maintenance for 3 years on synthetic oil change came out to 389 monthly
Was this a good deal???

Ohh and I put 3000 down for amount due at signing

Only additional features was back up camera cargo net trunk mat wheel lock and rear bumper app

Never put money down on a lease. You total it, you lost it.

First month and doc fees at signing is ok though.

The good news is you got a great car that will serve you well and you will enjoy for the next 3 years or so. You could have done better on the terms. Please...before you go shopping for your next vehicle, do your research and get educated on how to buy or lease a car BEFORE you sign for the deal. MF stands for money factor, which equates to the interest rate that is paid on a lease. It is one of the major factors that is used to calculate the payment. Had you posted this deal here before signing, you would've received some great input on how to proceed.

In the meantime, congrats on your new IS - have fun and enjoy it!

Based on those numbers, your MF (money factor) is about 0.0011 or 2.64 APR. it also looks like your RV (residual value) is about 66%. That is based on a cap reduction of $3,000 and cap addition of $830.

Just for reference, mine had an MSRP of $41,858 and negotiated purchase price of $36,000. My MF was 0.0011 (I did not use MSDs), with a $2,000 cap reduction, $830 cap addition, RV 74% on a 27 month 10k mile lease. Total monthly $235. I also got mine from Lexus of Cerritos.

In socal, you could have done better. The regional program for a base car is much less. As someone already said, do your research before and don't get caught up in the heat of the moment when you spot a car on the lot.
As far as putting money down.... it's not a bad thing. Depends on what you value more, paying money upfront or burying it in your payments. If you total it, most insurance companies provide gap insurance so you are not out the down payment. If yours doesn't, many leases include free gap insurance or you can buy it seperately.
Nice car and enjoy!

250 RWD non F Starfire Pearl/Flaxen nuluxe with Navi/Premium/Accessory packages, BSM, and 18's.

I have to correct my original post, as my numbers were a little off when I checked my paperwork this morning. My purchase price was $36,600 not $36,000. And my monthly is $250 not $235.

That's still a great deal - just to clarify - your payment incl tax is 250 and you paid $2000 total at signing - 27 mo/10k ? Did you complete this deal under this month's program or a previous month?

Thanks,

Bill G

Not trying to interfere with what lost808 might say, but residual value is another of the major factors used to calculate a lease payment. The RV is subtracted from the adjusted cap cost to determine how much depreciation you will pay over the term of the lease. Therefore, a higher RV will reduce your lease payment.

Axx - I recommend that you google "how to calculate an auto lease" and you will find a wealth of information that will help you in the future.

It is all about the RV in this scenario. Your RV is 66% based off an MSRP of $37,538 putting your RV at $24,775 and YOUR total cost at $16,548 over 36 months. With your $3,000 down, that drops your cost to $13,548 or around $370 a month.

My RV was 74% based on an MSRP of $41,858 putting my RV at $30,974 and MY total cost at $9,111 over 27 months. With my $2,000 down, it drops my cost to $7,111 or around $250 a month give or take a few dollars.

Because my RV was higher and my term is less, my monthly is less even though you put $1,000 more than me.

Bill, the lease was done on Jan 1 of this year. And yes, the monthly is my total payments inc CA taxes of 9%.

Agreed, with an explanation laid out for the OP above. The best way to lower a monthly payment is to get the RV % increased as high as they will allow. That is best if you do not plan on buying the car after the lease is up. If you plan to buy the car, then a lower RV % is ok, as it will lower the end purchase price. Either way in that scenario however, you still will be paying a lot for the car.
