Bike hauling options

Just out of total curiousity, what is the negative with putting it inside the trunk? I would think that to be easier than lifting it up to the roof and it's also protected safely inside. Unless you need the back seat for additional passengers?

There really isn't a negative. Just more time consuming.
Depending on the type of bars you have, fitment will be an issue with closing the trunk etc.
If you have disc brakes, sometimes you'll have to realign or you get rubbing from incorrectly tightening the skewers n such.

Hair Line scratches on your trunk when tightening the trunk tack onto the trunk.. Id advise wrapping the bike rack where it meets the paint with microfiber cloth and then tighten.

Ok I did some digging and it appears that the best option for a hard mount is the Thule with the aeroblades. They don't require any drilling and clamp to the upper edge of the doorframe with a flush looking aerodynamic mount. The only issue is they don't have the "mount kit" available yet. I talked to a few distributors and they said they expect it in the next few months.
I also found this other company making suction cup mounts called SeaSucker. Seems super cool and won't detract from the looks (or fuel economy) when you're not using it.

I may go this route, but the only kicker is it doesn't lock to the roof. I'd hate to go grab some food after riding and somebody pulls my pricey bikes off the roof by releasing the suction cups .
Edit: It looks like they thought of that - they make anchors that attach to the door frame or truck to run a cable lock for just that occasion. I might be picking this up.

Hi, All–
Would this work? http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitc...leid=201429741
It requires one to remove the exhausts.
Thanks.
