I know just some fishing line and a little goo-gone will do the trick
but i was starting this thread to see if anyone has another method of doing this

i just used a heat gun until the glue was soft and then pulled off the letters. Most of the adhesive came off with it and then i finished off with a little goo gone and some instant detailer.

As above, heat with hairdryer and should come off rather easily. Peel slow and glue should come off too. Then wax area....

I did it using floss. Tried it with a heat gun but it was too stubborn to come off. Floss, goo gone for extra adhesive, a lil wax and you're good to go!

Debadged a day or two after picking up the car. Did it with just a hair dryer. Heated for several minutes on medium heat, then SLOWLY pull each letter off; if you go slow enough, you'll see the adhesive come off cleanly. If the emblems start to cool off, just heat it again. Afterwards just wiped with microfiber & quick detail to get rid of a few barely visible specks of adhesive on the paint.

I also took off the dealer license frame and peeled off the masking tape beneath it. This was stuck on pretty tightly, and did require some goo-gone to clean up. I know the tape was probably there to prevent the license frame from scratching the paint, but it looked ugly, and I have a feeling it'll be quite nasty (and likely permanent) if left there after a couple years. I'll probably just put 2 pieces of clear bra material where the masking tape was to protect the paint once I decide to put on the plate.

Goo Gone and fishing string has always worked for me. You can easily keep a dryer near by if needed ??
