Yes, I get my iPhone 5 text messages through my nav system. I cannot get e-mail, though, and nor can I respond to text messages through the system.

My phone stays in my pocket because the 3IS comes with Bluetooth connectivity. There's no need to take it out while driving.

I leave mine in the flat spot where the seat heater buttons are. it fits perfectly.

I too have an iphone 5 and can recieve texts via Navi screen. It also reads it out loud if I choose the "read" button when it pops up. There is zero lag time between getting it on my phone, and the screen.

Leave my iPhone in my pocket. Otherwise, I would place it in the center console.

Keep mine between my seat and centre console. 3IS has a foam pad so things don't fall through to the floor

I sat in my car for an hour and for the life of me I can't figure out how to enable my iphone to display incoming messages. I have the Lexus Encore App installed as well. Does anyone know where to go to enable this?

i use the Note 3 and as soon as i paired my phone over bluetooth, the 3IS started displaying my new sms messages on the screen and gave me the option for the car to read out my sms.

i see in options there's also email notification tones, but when i receive new emails, the car does not show anything

anyone also get the 3IS to show incoming emails on screen?

On your phone:

Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Click on the i next to your car Bluetooth link. Make sure Show Notifications is set to On. Do this while connected to the car.

Then go to Settings > Notification Center > Messages. Make sure the Alert Style is set to Alerts, and Show in Notification Center is turned on.

Hope it helps. It's what I was told to do and it works for me. Let me know.

I was pondering one of these types of mounts too but worried it wouldnt work with our CD slot.
Finally pulled the trigger for a slightly different design but same concept today.

This is sooo frustrating!! No luck with getting any texts to show up on my screen. I also tried my wife's iphone 5S and went through all the settings, turned on the show notifications under settings, went to the phone menu and it just says "unable to display messages when I click the little mail icon on the Nav screen.

Can someone post a pic to show me what it looks like when a text appears?
