Poor Sound Proofing Insulation
Earlier today I left my car running in a friends driveway, but I thought one of the windows was open when I shut the door, as I could still clearly hear the music from within. The volume wasn’t turned up too loud, but it was easily seeping through the windows and doors. Strange because the car has a pretty quite interior. Sort of disappointed.
Anyone else ever notice same?

It is a good indication that Lexus made the 2014 IS350 very well if your main complaint is being able to hear the stereo outside of the car when the doors and windows are closed.
My advice is to turn the music down next time before exiting the vehicle.

When driving down the street, I'd rather not have the neighborhood so clearly hear whatever I'm listening to. Now wonder about being connected to a Bluetooth telephone call, which people outside may also be able to easily hear.
Were the 2IS doors better insulated?

The 3IS is much quieter inside than the 2IS.
Huh? As stated, the volume wasn't that loud.

Of course all cars are like this!! I was out with my friend in his new Mercedes S Class. I got out the passenger side, closing the door to mail a letter. I heard his car stereo outside the car with the windows and doors closed as well. The sound volume was not that high, the level had allowed our normal convversation seconds before.

The OP asked a simple question and everyone's going ape
OP, newer Lexus's specifically IS, ES, GS, CT, RX doors don't close properly like they used too, and they don't have that patented Lexus "thud" anymore. One thing they all share in common is the door handle which the LS, GX and LX use three different ones. I personally blame cost cutting. But as to the door materials seeing both 2IS and 3IS disassembled it's more or less the same amount of material from a static look.

Never realized all models except the LS and LX use the same door handle; interesting!
Otherwise, yes, it's unfortunate, but one must tread lightly on this board if he or she doesn't want a thread closed due to the instigation and, ironically, at the request of immature, intolerant others; crazy how many times it's happened.
There's a very clear title to the thread; if a complaint is bothersome, don't view the thread.
