Removing chrome trim
I have a ultra white 350 and I don't really care for the chrome with a white car so I really want to make it more sleek by painting all the window trim black. I thought about plasti dipping it and leaving the chrome trim on. But I like to do things the right way. So does any one know how to remove the chrome trim around the windows so I can give it to my painter. He want to charge me a extra $500 to remove and reset the trim. So if I can get some in site on how to do so that will be a great help.
Thanks in advanced

What I am planning on doing is wrapping all the chrome trim in black vinyl gloss when I wrap my roof in the same thing. It's cleaner and if you have the right person they can make a very hard job very easy without having to remove the trim

I was going to have this done, but I was short on time. The local shop quoted me for $250 and 2.5 hours of labour. They did a pretty good job on my front grille I must say.
To be honest, do it well the first time and forget about the chrome. I tried plasti dipping on my old car and it was both time consuming to mask the car from overspray and messy. The end result did not look as good as paint or vinyl.

I was thinking of wrapping the front chrome around the grill but what would happen if a rock chips it? I'm sure it'll expose the chrome underneath the wrap and I think it would stand out even more. The side window trims are fine since they're not as prone to getting rock chipped, but I'm hesitant about the front.

$500 to remove the trim?! That is a little ridiculous. Particularly because you don't need to remove the trim to wrap it. I called a shop that wraps cars and they quoted me $300 to wrap the window trim and the grill trim with 3M vinyl. I would recommend you call a few places. Do not let somebody charge you that much to remove the trim. In fact, I wouldn't recommend removing it at all. It's not required to wrap the trim.
