Looks like they've already corrected / compensated for the problem on the RC, which has an angled seam and a dark lower bar that makes the seam look [more] intentional:

Did you just upload drawings to make your point? Go look at a real picture and you will see you are wrong.

So you see why I like black trim better, as a designer?

As for seams, though, it's hard to know because I'm not sure of the scale of that rear side window, but I would not be surprised if there is a seam in the chrome strip on it, much like you seem to dislike, on the upper portion, just up from the < shape, in about the same location as the upper seam on our back door.

Check it out. Clearly there is a gap.

There's still a seam, but it's angled in a way that seems intentional, instead of vertically on what should be a seamless horizontal bar on the IS, which causes inconsistent light reflection.

Otherwise, I too understand design; studied transportation design at Academy of Art College a while back; no Art Center, but good times.

Dude, what's wrong with you? Why the rage? I never said there's no gap on the RC...

You are showing us on a drawing. Find a real picture.

No, that's not where I'm talking about. I'm talking about it above the window. What looks like one solid chrome strip, through the angle and up over the window to the top of the door, is indeed two pieces. I have just checked photos online and you can see it is there on the RC F, just above the angle, just like it is on our ISs. I found a good picture in the C&D gallery that shows it pretty clearly. It's not angled, but exactly like the two seems you don't like on ours (You only mentioned the one, but I assume you also don't like the other seem either).

If you are referring to a break in the area circled in red, that's fine. I'm not sure if the door window is framed or not, but it's far less obvious than a seam on a lower chrome strip of the window sill, which readily reflects light 'up', instead of 'down'. It's also in-line with the door opening.

No, I am not. I wish I was on a computer I could post photos from. Take your red circle, move it back about 12-15 inches. Pretty much the same location as the upper seam on the rear door of ours.

Hmm; not sure; please post a picture when you can. Thanks.

Does anyone know how to remove the chrome pieces? I want to take them off so I can paint them Black.
